I think a great leader is someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Someone that takes an interest in everyone’s position, their responsibilities, their challenges and successes. Having such a perspective allows for that leader to have a greater understanding of the total picture and be able to assist, impact and change as needed.
I couldn’t agree more!
Leaders who have been in your shoes- accomplishing the same goals you are working towards gives them SO much more credibility! That team mindset will take everyone further!
A good leader is always a good listener! Practicing active listening and being open and receptive to new ideas is necessary for successful leadership.
Definitely a good listener. Someone who can help out when needed if possible. Also, a good communicator in sharing what expectations are expected.
A great leader is also someone who is willing to follow when need be. I also believe a great leader needs to have great appreciation to their followers and knows how to listen and take others advice
Empathy, communication, listening, positive thinking. Be willing to have uncomfortable conversions, promote diversity in people and thinking.
Leaders need to be able to communicate and share their vision with their team. They need to possess strong emotional intelligence and be able to give direction and understand their team both as a whole and its component parts . Empower team members to make decisions (and the occasional mistake) and create an ethos that allows individuals to shine !
Great leaders to me are team players. A truly great leader is right beside you doing what needs to be dont not just sitting behind a desk telling every one what to do.
Great leaders give you the opportunity to make decisions, participate in the conversations and learn, even in difficult situations.
I think great leaders put trust in their team and make sure their team has the tools they need to thrive. I agree with everyone above, a great leader needs to be by your side getting their hands dirty, rather than telling you what to do. They need to make sure they are setting up their team for success.
Leading by example is the best way to cultivate trust loyalty and a hardworking team.
Someone who leads by example, understands roadblocks and helps staff overcome them.
Someone that isn’t afraid to do the hard work. Lead by example I do not ask anyone to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.
I think a good leader is someone who knows and understands all components of their team and their positions. One who isn’t afraid to stand up for their them, as well as give constructive feedback/reassurance to help each member grow and thrive. A leader is one that should lead by example, but also continues to learn and evolve. Empathy, communication and patience are great traits to have.
I think it takes experience and compassion to be a great leader. I think once you have been in or at the different levels of the people in your team you develop more compassion for those players and it turn can more easily earn their respect because they know and understand you have been where they are. You also, much liker them have a respect for them in their positions so it is very reciprocal and really levels the playing field.
Someone who take the time to work with their team. A leader listens and learns from their mistakes and helps guide those who need it or might just need a little push.
Innovation and the ability to plan ahead!
To listen and to be team player, a mentor. Not just a chief
One of my best leaders always lead by example, no matter the situation.
She never asked anything of us that she didn’t know how to do, and if a new task came up, she was right there learning with us. She also had an open door policy, and she was always available for feedback and advice
There were so many other amazing qualities about her that I try to apply in my leadership style, but those the two qualities that drew me to her team.
